Apparently, from the Washoe County Website, there are no minutes from the April 2, 2026 South Valleys CAB Citizens Advisory Board) meeting because there was no quorum by the members. This is unfortunate because there are many issues to deal with in the South Valleys and we need more public participation to encourage the members to attend.
The meetings are bi-monthly meaning the next one is in June, after the Regional Planning Commission meets on the Sierra Reflections Project in May. We need to stay involved on a constant basis to defend our lifestyle.
The CAB meetings are important as we can communicate directly with county officials. They communicate to us county projects and conditions. I have always been interested in the Sheriffs Office presentations on the amount of crime in our area. Other areas of concern are public works with updates on local projects in the areas of roads, drainage and infrastructure.
So if you want to be active and get out of the house once in awhile it would be great to take a more active role. I am guilty of falling down on this too. If one result of the Sierra Reflections nightmare is inspiring us to defend our lifestyle, it will be worth it.
See you at the next CAB meeting.
