The Washoe County Board of County Commissioners will proclaim April 13-20 Nevada Dark Skies week in their meeting tomorrow, April 14, beginning at 10am.
In addition, Washoe Lake State Park will host a Star Party, Saturday June 13 from 8:30pm to 10:30pm at the Maze Parking Lot (this is accessed from the main entrance). $5 per vehicle.
Dark Skies are an important part of our rural lifestyle. Being able to see the stars, planets and other astral phenomena is part of our heritage and should be protected.
