Washoe Lake State Park has issued a Harmful Algae Bloom (HAB) Watch for Washoe Lake.
Washoe Lake, located in Washoe Lake State Park, has been placed under a HAB Watch Advisory due to a possible Harmful Algae Bloom (HAB), according to Nevada State Parks.

Watch Duty has relayed a National Weather Service Flash Flood Watch on Tuesday, August 11 for the next several days. The Purple on the map below is the Watch area. Also, the Bug and Fred Mountain Fires have combined and the Stallion Fire has grown to 20,000 acres.

Washoe Lake State Park has issued a Harmful Algae Bloom (HAB) Watch for Washoe Lake.
Washoe Lake, located in Washoe Lake State Park, has been placed under a HAB Watch Advisory due to a possible Harmful Algae Bloom (HAB), according to Nevada State Parks.

Police scanner traffic indicated a bear had been hit on Old 395 just north of the Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory in Washoe City at about 7:30 on July 23rd.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Lake Tahoe and Eastern Sierra.
Western Nevada is currently experiencing monsoonal moisture bringing high temperatures in the 90s, with a 30% to 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms expected through Tuesday. Drier, sunnier conditions with warming temperatures are anticipated
Bear hit by car later found dead
The News 4 site reported today that a bear had been hit by a car near the Big yTex Trailer lot just north of Andrew Lane along old 395 in Pleasant Valley at about 9:30pm last Thursday.
NDOW staff searched the area
The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection hosted a media seminar today at Washoe Lake to raise awareness on identifying hazardous conditions.
