Steamboat near Towne Drive was the scene of a 2 acre fire on Friday, June 19. Lightning is suspected to be the cause.
These photos were snapped by citizens and posted on social media.
As KOLO 8 reported, the fire was called in at about 2:30 pm on Friday, June 19, 2026 and was limited to 2 to 2.5 acres. It may have been two separate fires. The TMFPD initial opinion is that is was lightning caused. The fire consumed brush and grass and no structures were damaged.
