The nursery will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from April 30 through June 6.

The Nevada Division of Forestry Conservation Nursery opens for the season on Thursday, April 30th with locally grown plants for sale.

The nurseries focus is on locally viable plants for erosion control and wildfire prevention.

From the NDF website: "The Washoe Conservation Nursery produces plant materials native or adapted to the Great Basin and Sierra Nevada. The state nursery program can produce up to 250,000 plants each year and has experience growing 250 different species. The nurseries grow the majority of their plants from seeds or cuttings and the Las Vegas nursery grows some plants for sale through the Washoe Conservation Nursery near Carson City. Plants are typically available as seedlings 1-3 years old."
